REEL RECYCLING PROGRAM FOR SURFACE MOUNT TAPE AND REEL SERVICE FOR A GREENER AMERICA
ELK GROVE VILLAGE,
ILLINOIS: Nu-Way Electronics, Inc., Chicago area based value-added stocking distributor
specializing in electronic components, has announced a reel recycling program for surface
mount tape and reel service. Nu-Way Electronics customers will return their used plastic
reels for credit when ordering surface mount tape and reel service. NU-WAY inspects,
relabels and reuses the reels when providing their tape and reel service. NU-WAY has the
capability of taping all components in all tape sizes from 8mm to 56mm widths on 7 and 13
inch reels. The NU-WAY reel recycling program provides customers with an effective way to
discard empty plastic reels while earning a credit towards tape and reel service while
doing their part for a better environment.
NU-WAY Electronics customers return their used plastic reels which are then inspected for
sound condition and any existing labels are covered. A label identifying the reel as being
recycled is affixed. NU-WAY then uses these reels in their tape and reel service. The
recycling program works best when returned reels are of the same type and quantity as those
provided through NU-WAY's tape and reel service ordered. At the present time, the recycling
program is limited to reels of 13 inch diameter and widths of 12mm, 16mm, 24mm, 32mm and
44mm.
NU-WAY Electronics specializes in taping surface mount components and has capability to
tape all components in all tape sizes from 8mm to 56mm on 7 and 13 inch reels. All work is
100% inspected off-line to assure quality. Each reel is electronically tested for peel-back
force to guarantee consistent sealing. Taping is performed to the EIA-481 standard or to
the customer's specifications. NU-WAY accepts components to be taped in tubes, in bulk or
on tape and reel for retaping. Special carrier tape is available for new designs or
nonstandard devices. EIA standard bar code labels available. Turnaround time is usually
less than one week.
Recycled 13 inch reels earn a $1.25 credit. This credit is made on the invoice for the tape
and reel service.
