Nu-Way Introduces Epoxy End Sealing Service
End Seals Protect Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors
Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors are widely used in electronic assemblies. Certain harsh environments require sealing the ends of the capacitor, beyond the standard sealing provided by the capacitor manufacturer.
Nu-Way meets this need by offering Epoxy End Sealing service.
Nu-Way’s process was specifically developed for protection of aluminum electrolytic capacitors against solvent penetration during cleaning of printed circuit board assemblies.
A highly engineered two-part epoxy is applied to one or both ends of the capacitor. After baking, the epoxy forms a hard, smooth and durable seal to prevent harsh chemicals from damaging the capacitor during cleaning.
Epoxy end sealing is recommended when printed circuit board assemblies are to be cleaned with halogenated or chlorinated cleaning solvents. The end seals also provide mechanical rigidity for those applications where microphonics are a concern.
Nu-Way offers end sealing for through-hole capacitors, both radial and axial styles. Turnaround time is usually less than one week. Contact us for pricing and more technical information.
